On Friday afternoon, Nasser and I arrived at the Liberty Hotel. We were so excited to just be there and relished in the moment, not really knowing the whirlwind of chaos that was about to take over for the next 24 hours.
The following pictures are from us waiting for everyone to arrive for the rehearsal in the lobby. We are HUGE fans of Mojito's so we ordered a bunch to help the time pass while we waited!
My aunt Barb, Nassers mom Donna, and Nassers grandparents, Momon Joon and Baba Rashidi...they opted for the coffee and tea!
My sister and our nephew Michael.
Three of the Bridesmaids, my sisters Angela, Marcella, and Sister-in-Law Lia, and my brother Joey, who was one of the Groomsmen.
I think my nephew Michael (our ring bearer) was the most excited to be there!
Nasser was getting the hang of what we later named the "man cam", mainly because of it's manly color!
My dad, my mom and brother. I have no idea what they were talking about, it was either really serious or funny.
Me and my sister Angie, just posing for a self portrait.
The to-be Groom and Bride. We LOVED our outfits that night!
There are more pictures from the rehearsal dinner, which was hosted by Nassers family at his parents house, but I never got to see them. It was blast though, his Aunts and Unlces and parents all pulled together and made a delicious Persian feast and we ate and drank and danced! Definitely a fun night!
I am going to let the pictures be the guide for the main event (All of the following photos were taken by Cambria Grace Photogrpahy, the links to her site are in Engagement Photo post from 2012, see below.)
The Girls Getting Ready
The Guys Getting Ready
Here Come the Bride
The Bridal Party walked into the ceremony to the Vitamin String Quartets version of "Bohemian Rhapsody"

(MISSING: A picture of the Maid of Honor walking in, not sure how such an important person was missed)
My Dad and I walked in to the Vitamin String Quartet's version of Weezer's "Across the Sea"
We wrote our own vows and didn't share with each other prior to the ceremony. We both mentioned our LOVE of Chinese food and The Beach Boys song "Kokomo" and managed to sneak in a few other inside jokes that kept our guests laughing and crying, even though they didn't fully understand why it was even funnier or more special to us! (I wish I had pictures of our vows, they were very crumpled and sweaty after we were done with them!)
Some more Bride and Groom and Bridal Party Pictures
A lot of our photos were taken from a distance, I started to think we were not cute enough to get close up shots!
The Cocktail Hour
The cocktail hour took place on the 5th floor rotunda. We had two bars set up and two identical food stations with Chinese food displays and a few different passed appetizers (I don't feel like looking up how to spell the proper word for that!)
The Reception
The Parents and Grandparents entered the reception to the Beach Boys "Good Vibrations"
(MISSING: The photographer did not seem to think that the Brides family was too important, just like missing my sister walking into the ceremony, she completely neglected to take pictures of my Parents and Brother walking into the reception)
The Bridal Party walked in to Tom Jones "It's not Unusual" while doing the "Carlton" dance from Fresh Prince TV show.
My nephews Michael and Logan, looked VERY dapper that evening!
Nasser and I are big fans of "Arrested Development" so we walked in to "Final Countdown". Unfortunately, we didn't think throwing penny's would be safe thing to do!
The First Dance
We first danced to "Just like Heaven" by the Cure. Our DJ (DJ Colm) was amazing. He brought it on vinyl!!
We immediately invited all of the wedding guests to join us to dance to Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance", which was what Nasser and I danced to on our first date. (Did I mention how FANTASTIC our DJ was?! Zero complaints about him!!)
Throughout the first dances the guests "made it rain", and the kids did a good job of cleaning up the floor for us! There isn't a picture of it, but our entire sweetheart table was covered in dollar bills (some of which may or may not have caught on fire...oops!).
Some of the details
![]() |

I wish they had taken some pictures of the room before the guests got into it. The vases were 24" high and we put a lot of effort into designing the tablescape, so its too bad that they didn't get a single picture of those details and how grand the room looked as whole. (How does that saying go, wish in one hand....)
The wedding was a blast and all of our guests keep telling us how much fun they had, so it was a definitely worth all the effort and stress! We actually had a few wedding crashers, they said our party was more fun than the club at the hotel, unfortunately for them, they got the boot!
There are a lot more photos, but I am growing tired of making this post!! Enjoy!
